Getting Started
Thank you for opening your home and heart to care for a child! 

Transitions can be difficult, but More Than a Bed is here to help. We provide essentials- at no cost– to help you get what you need to create and sustain a safe, secure, and loving environment for the children in your care. Getting started is easy as 1-2-3:

Collect documentation for each child in your care. It’s likely you’ve received the necessary paperwork from your case manager. Click here to see the approved documents we accept.

Come into our warehouse during business hours. Bring the documentation you collected and your photo ID. We’ll enter all the information into our system and help you get started!

You’re all set to shop in the warehouse and can begin shopping the same day. Kids are encouraged to come shop too! You will also have access to our Enrichment Center services.

Who We Serve

More Than a Bed (MTaB) has been serving the foster, kinship, and adoptive community since 2014. It is our privilege to be a resource to children and families in Southern Arizona, and we look forward to growing our impact and expanding our services in the coming year!

Documentation Needed:

  • Photo ID
  • Foster Care License (renewed every 1-2 years)
  • Signed Notice to Provider given by DCS (NTP)

Please send your required documentation to info@morethanabed.org before coming to the warehouse for the best shopping experience. 

What to expect:

Step One- When you arrive, please bring your photo ID/valid driver’s license to the counter.

Step Two- A volunteer will give you a tour of the warehouse if needed.

Step Three- Grab a shopping bag and find the items that your child(ren) need. As a reminder, we are here to serve the current needs of the foster child(ren) in your home.

Step Four- Head to the checkout counter when done. The staff will review and confirm that your foster and licensing documents are up to date then record your items.

We love our items to make a full circle. Once your child no longer needs the items you received from the warehouse, we kindly ask that you return them so together we can pay it forward to the next family.  

As the children’s needs grow, you are welcome back to the warehouse.

Step Two- A volunteer will give you a tour of the warehouse if needed.

Step Three- The teens may then grab a shopping bag and find the items they need. As a reminder, we are here to serve the children that are registered with MTaB.

Step Four- Head to the checkout counter when done. The staff will review and confirm your documentation is up to date then record the items received that day.

We love our items to make a full circle. Once the teens no longer needs the items they received from the warehouse, we kindly ask that you return them so together we can pay it forward to the next family.  

As the teen’s needs grow, they are welcome back to the warehouse.

The MTaB marketplace is a closed group for our caregivers. Post what your family needs or post what item you have to give. The idea is that you will be helping each other. More Than A Bed will do the same – we will post newly donated items.
