Current Board Members

Heather Robey - Board Chair

Born and raised in Tucson, Heather loves the desert and the unique culture and
community of Southern Arizona. A proud University of Arizona graduate, she enjoys solving complex problems and loves to have a plan. She’s served as an executive level finance and accounting professional for over twenty years in manufacturing, telecommunications and real estate investment and now serves her community professionally through her work on the executive team at Northwest Fire District.

Heather has one son and a gaggle of young people who call her “auntie”. Her
passion for contributing to the dignity and well-being of young people in our
community is what led her to serve at More Than a Bed.

Jessica Graves, ESQ - Vice Chair

Jessica is a double Wildcat, having graduated with a B.S. in Psychology and J.D. from The University of Arizona. Jessica and her sister were both adopted as infants, Jessica from Korea and her sister from China. However, it was not until their brother joined the family at age 8 from foster care, that her interest in child welfare was spurred. Jessica is privileged to be able to help build forever families as an adoption attorney. It was her history, her family’s history, and her passion to help children which brought her to More Than a Bed.

Jody Bunch - Secretary

Jody had a career as a secretary when she met and married a man with full custody of his two small children. Day care issues led her to resign her position and become a full-time mom. Blended family challenges were surprising for all but love prevailed. Jody has always had a heart for the underdog, especially children. Supporting foster, kinship and adoptive families in various capacities has been rewarding, and she finds serving on the Board of Directors fulfilling.

Rufus Tamayo - Treasurer

I come from a large family and was the first one to graduate from the university. I place my center on my Faith in Jesus, Family, Country and Community. As a Christian I am commanded to love God, honor my parents (family) and help those who cannot help themselves.

To this end I was a Boy Scout, Combat US Marine, retired from Law Enforcement, Court Appointed Special Advocate for neglected and abused children in Pima County and currently sit on the board for More Than a Bed. I am also a member of a philanthropic worldwide fraternity, Epes Randolph Lodge. None of this would have been possible without the love and devotion of my wife, Debbie.

We have four adult children and eight grandkids. As anyone can see we are family centered and have devoted our lives to the success of family. Decades ago, we decided to share our Faith with the needy and poor, as God would have it. The emphasis is on children that suffer the most as their misfortune was not an act of their own.

Anne-Marie Braswell - Director

Anne-Marie is a graduate of Northern Arizona University and a proud Arizona native. She’s blessed to be married to her husband David and together they have 3 children. Anne-Marie has worked in Public Relations in Southern Arizona for 18 years and enjoys using her talents in community relations to positively impact the community. Presently, Anne-Marie works for Northwest Fire District as their Community Relations & Public Education Services Manager. She also stays busy attending her children’s various academic and extra-curricular activities. Her passions are her faith and her family.

Amanda Magelli - Director

Amanda is a talented administrative leader in the education sector backed by significant professional development and supervision experience. She is an effective communicator skilled at developing and implementing academic programs to create high-quality learning environments. Exceptional relationship building skills with a track record for developing meaningful partnerships with major community stakeholders. Amanda is an articulate public speaker with strong presentation and facilitation abilities.

Kristy Keating- Director

Kristy is a passionate nurse practitioner dedicated to promoting health and wellness within our community.  When she’s not on the frontline caring for patients, you can find her making a difference serving multiple organizations in Southern Arizona.  She believes in the power of love and compassion, and strives to create a nurturing environment for everyone she encounters.

In her free time, she loves exploring new hiking trails, traveling, and cheering on the Arizona Wildcats (Bear Down!).  Connecting with people and sharing experiences brings me Kristy joy, so feel free to reach out!
